This vibrant painting by Dionís shows the magical underwater life just below the surface of the clear coves around Pollença. Long before underwater cameras were common, Dionís made his own special tool — a wooden bucket with a glass bottom — to peer into the sea and study the fish swimming among the rocks.
These paintings are some of the earliest visual records of the underwater world in this area. He captured the bright colours and curious fish as he saw them through his homemade “window” into the sea.
